Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to Mantau Village in Malumfashi Local Government Area following the recent bandit attack that claimed several lives during prayers.

The Governor, who interrupted his medical leave abroad to attend to the crisis, said he came to share in the grief of the victims’ families, announcing ₦500,000 cash support for each affected household and a package of development projects for the community.

“Human life is sacred; it is not a game. Whatever you feel, I feel it in my heart. I too lost a brother to insecurity,” Radda told the mourning villagers, assuring them of his administration’s continued efforts to restore peace.

He disclosed that the state government would undertake the construction of a modern school and hospital, renovation of the village mosque, rehabilitation of damaged houses, and improvement of access roads to ensure swift security response.

Radda further directed the Malumfashi Local Government Chairman to work with traditional rulers in mobilizing and training youths for community defense, even as he reaffirmed plans to deploy a military battalion in the Malumfashi zone.

The Governor also warned politicians against exploiting insecurity for selfish purposes, stressing that “security is about saving human lives, not politics. Whoever stands in the way of peace, we will confront them, and by God’s will, we will succeed.”

Community leaders commended the Governor’s intervention. The Galadiman Katsina, Justice Sadiq Abdullahi Mahuta, lauded Radda’s determination in tackling insecurity, while Magajin Garin Karfi, Malam Wa’alamu Garba, expressed appreciation for the Governor’s decision to abandon medical treatment abroad to personally comfort his people.

The Governor was accompanied by Senator Muntari Dandutse (Funtua Zone), Hon. Aminu Ibrahim (Malumfashi/Kafur Federal Constituency), Special Adviser on Community Watch Corps Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim Safana, senior traditional rulers, the Commissioner of Police, the DSS Director-General, security chiefs, local government chairmen from Funtua Zone, and political leaders.
